शिखरजी या श्री शिखरजी या पारसनाथ पहाड़ी भारत के झारखंड राज्य के गिरीडीह ज़िले में छोटा नागपुर पठार पर स्थित एक पहाड़ी है जो विश्व का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण जैन तीर्थ स्थल भी है। माना जाता है कि 24 में से 20 जैन तीर्थंकरों ने इसी स्थान पर मोक्ष प्राप्त किया था।1,350 मीटर (4,430 फ़ुट) ऊँचा यह पहाड़ झारखंड का सबसे ऊंचा स्थान भी है।
Shri Sammed Shikharji Teerth Kshetra has the top rank among all the Digambar Jain Teerth Kshetras, being the salvation place of 20 Teerthankaras and large number of saints. So this is called Teerthraj.Shree Sammed Shikharji is one of the most prominent pilgrimage among all the Jain pilgrimages located in eastern India. According to ethics if a person visits Sammed Shikharji engaging his full mind and with full devotion, he attains salvation in maximum 49 lives of his near future and thus he gets free from worldly affairs, affection and aversion.
The total foot path trail distance to visit all 31 Tonks is estimated to be 27KM. 9 km is going up to the 1st Tonk, 9km is coming down and 9km is traversing all the tonks over the mountain top. 1st tonk is in the center of the mountain, while 12th tonk is on the far east side (about 3km) and 31st tonk is on the far west side (about 3 km).
How to reach:
Bus – Buses of Teerth Kshetra Committee are available for pilgrims from Sammed Shikharji to Eesari or Parshvanath Station from morning to evening daily.
Train – Parshvanath Station is situated on Delhi – Hawrah or Gaya – Kolkata line. Express Trains also have a stoppage here.
Air – Patna and Ranchi airport.
